Triptych Tales: Angels, Truth, & Wrath©

Patricide as mercy.
A man who can remove anything confronts the truth.
A killer greets an urban legend on her territory.
Triptych Tales Vol.#1 begins a series of short stories exploring characters and situations that are just a bit off kilter. Everyone has secrets but how the secrets manifest themselves is another experience entirely.
In "The Angel" a preacher's son seeks salvation for his sins. Drawn by the aroma of oranges, lead into the dark recesses of the funeral home, will he gain the redemption he seeks or commit the same sins over again?
"Porter" doesn't like what the angels tell him. They want him to purge people from the world, but Ira Porter just wants to fit in. Then he meets the girl who can make the angel's voices go silent. Is it enough to keep him from removing everyone or is there a truth she keeps more frightening than what Porter can do?
Finally, in "Denouement" there is something tidy about tying up loose ends. It makes the killer feel whole but he isn't prepared to be one of the loose ends. What is that noise coming from her throat? What is she? For the killer, she is darker and older than the world he's made for himself.
A Writer's Wondering
I have always had a passion for writing. Since Kindergarten when my teacher Mrs. Chaffin read the book "Which Witch?" I have been drawn to the written word.
Language is the only universal, eternal magic.
Through language you can record history or make it.
Through language you can create worlds or destroy them.
Through language you can cross oceans, galaxies, and time...you can even take the leap across cultures and share a moment in your life with someone you've never met.
I love writing because I love telling stories.
Background
I have a Bachelor's degree in English with a Creative Writing minor and a few years ago, I earned my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
I teach creative writing on the high school level and have been for almost 5 years. I learn something new every semester. I cover Creative nonfiction, poetry, and short fiction. I do wish I could teach novel writing but such things are difficult to squeeze into an already packed curriculum.
I'm 1/3 the age I plan on living to (120) so I'm still in that loving life stage. I'm a father of 8, husband, comic book collector and purveyor of a philosophy I've come to call possimism.
Not pessimistic, or optimistic, just a believer of everything being possible. Plan for stuff and life is just a little easier to deal with.
I do have a Blog where I've taken to sharing my rants and thoughts. It's a PG-13 blog so nothing weird or disturbing.
